Alvin’s staff
October 16, 2009I took some time after lunch to finally assign Alvin’s staff. It was a real pleasure in realizing that Alvin was the last thing to be bought for a complete set of gadgets.

Everything is complete — a Kodak EasyShare 7-MP digital camera and a Magnavox 2GB Mp3 player, which I bought from WalMart in the States last year; a Maxtor 160-GB external passport hard drive which Mom bought me last April; a set of SONY MDR earphones which I have long kept in reserve; and a Kingston 2GB flash drive bought last March [it’s pink, SO GAY].
Alvin, my newest baby
October 15, 2009

My newest baby. His name is ALVIN. He’s an ASUS K40IJ. And he’s making me so happy.
Designed to provide users with a comfortable mobile computing experience, the ASUS K40IJ features the IceCool design, which boasts cleverly designed and positioned heat vents which keeps the palm rest cool, lower than that of the average human body temperature. ASUS IceCool design keeps temperature at palm rest area low even after long computing hours.
Highlighting ALVIN’s specifications are the following:
Processor & Cache Memory
IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® Dual Core Processor T4200
2.0 GHz FSB 800MHz, 1M L2 Cache
Main Memory
2GB DDR2
Display

Hard Drive

ALVIN will partner with THEODORE, my BOSE Wave System, for his Audio.
SIMON is up next. Must he be this Honda Civic i’m planning to get?
The mp3 player generation
October 14, 2009

Who would eveer think we’d be playing music from a device a little bigger than the thumb? The little-mp3-player mania manifested itself to me in November of 2005. Time to shift to the little techie stuff from that bulky SONY cassette-tape walkman recorder. I have set my hands on four players since I started off with this purple China 256MB mp3, which I sold to Nikkie when I bought a CREATIVE ZEN Nano 1GB in early 2006. In 2007, I finally tried the popular iPOD Nano 2GB. However, as I was not content with the operation of an iPOD plus its complicated iTUNES software, I decided to sell this again to Nikkie and bought a simple 2GB MAGNAVOX Player, which is simply a plug-and-play device. I bought this at WALMART in the States. I still have my CREATIVE ZEN and my MAGNAVOX, plus a set of SONY MDR earphones, making me smile until today.
The mobile phone craze
August 17, 2007
I’m talking of the SMS era only, starting in March of 2000. I can’t anymore document the ANALOG age, and I don’t anymore document my secondary units, much less, those reconditioned units. One thing is sure, I felt real happiness on each and every purchase of these phones.
Year 2004 signalled the start of the camera phone era. I acquired a SONY ERICSSON T610 in June of the same year; however, the USB age seemed to have made known itself to me only in the second half of 2005. In July of 2005, I acquired a NOKIA 6230, and this was the jumpstart to camera phone obsession. In January of 2006, my SMART plan was due for renewal, and it gave me a NOKIA 6630. In June, as the NOKIA N-series seemed to dominate the market, I bought a NOKIA N70. Finally, in August 2007, I decided to sell my N70 to buy a brand new SONY ERICSSOn w850i walkman phone, which is my phone until today. With the influx of very beautiful NOKIA phones within the time of owning my w850i, I just don’t know what to buy next. Maybe an iPhone now? Hehehe.

A hopeless romantic, Kim still dreams of finally settling in with "that somebody" who could be worth his time, his passion, and his life. Nurtured material goals include putting up a mobile sound business, photography and video studio, and music studio; building that beautiful 4-bedroom home in California and achieving US resident status; and owning that SUV and that brand new car. :)
